Reciprocal Manager Link Management Software
23 July 2005, greg @ 10:01 pm

We have just recently purchased the Reciprocal Link Manager software. What a great program! This product will take alot of the tedium out of your link getting/managing efforts. If you exchange alot of links, this is a product for you and at $147usd what have you got to lose? There is even a 90 money back guarantee.

I had a little trouble getting it installed and configured on our Yahoo! Merchant Solutions sites but after a bit of perseverance, all is working properly. If you would rather have someone install Reciprocal Manager for you, send me an email and we can talk.

Is SCO Smoking Crack?
15 July 2005, greg @ 2:19 pm

A 2002 e-mail suggests that an investigation commissioned by The SCO Group failed to produce any evidence that Linux contained copyrighted Unix code. Read more…

You have to wonder about the veracity of anything coming out of a company that files a $1b lawsuit against IBM and a host of other tech companies but has produced almost no substantiating evidence in 3+ years. SCO has become nothing more than a Microsoft shill. Read more opinion on the shill issue here.

The good thing to see through all of this is that SCO has not stopped innovating. But who would have guessed SCO, stalwart technical innovators that they were, would focus their innovative energies on ridiculous legal claims like this.

“I.B.M. will announce a partnership today with CenterPoint Energy, a utility based in Houston, to develop broadband services to be delivered over electric power lines.”

“The companies will open a technology center in Houston to test and demonstrate the technology for consumers and other utility providers. CenterPoint Energy will also set up a pilot program in about 220 Houston homes that will run through August.” Read More…

Call your broker! This technology is going to be huge. All things being equal, this is the broadband technology I’d pick from a simplicity standpoint. Plug it in and your are good togo. What could be easier? The challenge may be getting some of the old school utility providers to understand the how’s and why’s of this incredible technology.

States Close in on Internet Tax Collection
11 July 2005, greg @ 3:25 pm

The Internet sales tax issue may have reached the tipping point when 18 state tax collectors agreed upon an interstate set of sales tax rules. The tipping point, however, is still a long way from reality.

I mentioned in my June 15th, 2005 post that the Feds and those at the state level are salivating over the possibilities of taxing online sales. Here is more proof of that fact. It will take a bit longer for the fruit to ripen but it is definitely picking up steam. I have a feeling that when this goes, it will take off pretty quickly.

An email from Fritz Schneider at G regarding the impending release.

This is a good bit of news. It shows the internet world at large is taking the Firefox browser seriously. We have been using it exclusively in our offices when developing our table lamps, fireplace screens, tiffany lamps & patio heater websites. Firefox has proven to be an absolutely first rate product and is quickly becoming the best browser available for general usage.
