Once in awhile I will make an exception and put personal posts in this blog…

To put it bluntly, I am an aviation nut. Actually, I am a nut about most everything with an internal or external combustion engine. At any rate, last week I made it down to the annual EAA convention in Oshkosh, WI. Thankfully it is only a 45 minute drive from home so the travel is never an issue. EAA Airventure 2005 was an absolutely incredible experience. I haven’t gone to the convention in several years but it hasn’t really changed. Every time I have gone over the last 20 years, there is something amazing to see.

This year was no different. There is no other aviation event where, in one day, you could see

• Burt Rutans SpaceShipOne & White Knight
• The Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer Global Flyer Official Home Page
• The Eclipse 500 from Eclipse Aviation
  (this company is revolutionizing the VLJ market)
• The Liberty Parachute Team
• Warbirds of America
• Half of ALL flyable B17’s in the world
• P-38 Glacier Girl

We saw all of this and alot more in one day. If you are an aviation enthusiast, you absolutely must make the trip to EAA Airventure 2006.
