We received an interesting number of SPAM emails from a supposed organization trying to stop SPAM. They actually had me for a minute until I determined they were a bogus research organization trying to develop their database of emails and other information.

Did anybody else get this SPAM?

Google & Sun Microsystems announced a strategic partnership today around the Sun Java environment. I am typing as I watch the webcast… Oooh, Mr. Schmidt just presented Scott with a Java (lava) lamp. Very nice… Mr. McNealy is smart enough to sidestep the “are you aiming at Microsoft” questions. Not surprisingly, the news conference/webcast is pretty light on specifics. Whois the guy with the ponytail…? I think I have talked with him at a conference somewhere when I was a technogeek.

This is the type of thing that has the potential to be a huge boon to both companies or it could fizzle before it ever leaves the ground. What becomes of this partnership is entirely up to both of these companies. If they are both serious, it will have wings.

It looks like this may be the beginning of hugs and kisses between Scott and Eric.
